The Future Inglewood House
Inglewood House is an affordable Housing project for seniors, located on the NE corner of 12 st and 8 ave SE, right in the heart of Inglewood. Development is done by Luxe Development.

After breaking ground in October, 2012, the project has been under non-stop construction and is expected to be completed as early as December 2013.

Here is what seniors can expect from this new project, by the Inglewood Housing Corporation; proximity to the core of Inglewood where all services and facilities are easily accessible (especially to the famous Inglewood Lawn-Bowling), as well as easy access to the Bow River and the Calgary Zoo. An Ideal location!

The Inglewood House is a 3-storey building, with 43 units, including: 8 bachelor units and 35 one-bedroom units of which 5 are barrier-free.

The Government of Canada invested over $4.7M at Inglewood House. However, this is a part of something much bigger; the Federal and Provincial Governments are providing equally to a total investment of $238M, over 2 years, under the amended Canada-Alberta Affordable Housing Program Agreement and through Canada's Economic Action Plan.

"Through Canada's Economic Action Plan, our Government remains committed to helping seniors in AB and throughout the country..." said Parliamentary Secretary Deepak Obhrai. Doug Griffiths, AB Municipal Affairs Minister added that "Inglewood is one of Calgary's most revered communities with a rich history and the Government of AB is a proud partner of this Seniors Affordable Housing Project. I'm pleased that the people who helped create this community will have a new and affordable place to call home."
President of Inglewood Housing Corporation, Elaine High, said "Inglewood House... continues the legacy of Inglewood Housing Corporation by replacing a 12-unit complex built in 1976. The new energy efficient building will complement the ongoing development of Inglewood. This project is the result of three years of successful collaboration between the Federal and Provincial Governments on behalf on IHC."

It seems as if the Governments are taking care of those who need caring.
