Deane House Construction Update

The Deane House is one of Calgary's most iconic heritage site. It's been in existence since the early 1900's, when it was built for Fort Calgary's Superintendent Captain Richard Deane.
Currently the house is going through a rehabilitation process, which will be completed sometime in 2015.

Renovation won't change the structure nor the purpose of the building as a restaurant; however, there will be some alterations to the garden area and the parking lot.

The focus seems to be on improving the current building and protecting the historic importance of the Deane House.

  1. Kind of a creepy restaurant. Zero energy vibe in a packed restaurant full of people eating. It was like a vacuum had sucked up the energy/vibes of the air there. Strange. I had tasty (slightly sweet) homemade scones & jam, and salad with the most wonderful raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Portions were on the small size. I smiled when the mentioned "rehabilitation" in the article. It will be interesting to see how the energy is when they re-open. An experience!

  2. Agreed! It will be very interesting to see what kind of new life will be brought to the restaurant once the project is complete, and hopefully everyone's experiences will be upgraded. It is considered a haunted area though, so that might linger... perhaps it is part of the charm, no? It shouldn't take much longer for the rehabilitation and we'll actually have a short update article about it this coming Monday, so stay tuned :)

  3. Thanks Anat Gat! Thanks for the positive response and yes hopefully experiences will be upgraded. But.... it is/was just a reality of the house. Hope they keep making those great scones and raspberry vinaigrette dressing salad!

  4. Floors can lighten up a room, they can make it seem bigger, more appealing. Nowadays, floors are not just something that you walk on when you enter a chamber; they have gotten a bigger role. AAccess Floor can be very useful in terms of hiding different cables, making a drainage system, installing air conditioning.

  5. Some people choose to love their job. Others learn to loathe going to work. Some people have the mentality that it's what you do and whether you like it or not is irrelevant.

  6. Both legs are zippered, making it easy to put them on or take them off, even with boots on. They come with zippered pockets and an elastic belt.
